On Wednesday morning, Moeller High School will be the site of an active shooter training drill aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness for both students and local first responders. The drill, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., is designed to simulate an intruder entering the building, prompting a swift police response. During the exercise, officers will use blanks to simulate gunfire, adding realism to the drill while ensuring the safety of all participants.

As part of the training, students will be tasked with evaluating the situation, providing them with a sense of how to react in a crisis. Meanwhile, first responders will tend to those designated as “injured” during the exercise, further honing their skills in handling emergencies.

To facilitate the drill and ensure the safety of all involved, Montgomery Road will be closed to traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Local residents and commuters are advised to plan alternate routes during this time.

The active shooter training drill is part of ongoing efforts to prepare both students and emergency responders for a variety of crisis situations, helping to improve response times, communication, and safety measures in the event of a real-life emergency. Moeller High School encourages the community’s understanding and support as they participate in this important training exercise.
