The Paley Center For Media's PaleyFest 2014 Honoring "Community"

There’s great news for NBC viewers that were crushed by the network’s latest round of programming cuts: “Community” is back!

Cool! Cool, cool, cool!

“Community” has been resurrected, according to Deadline.com! NBC canceled the cult classic after five seasons back in May. Many fans lobbied on social media for Netflix to save the show, as it did with fellow offbeat sitcom “Arrested Development.” Streaming juggernaut Hulu and the newly minted Esquire network had also been interested in picking up “Community.” None of them wound up getting it, though.

Sony Pictures, which produces “Community,” has just sealed a 11th hour deal wth Yahoo! to air 13 episodes of the sitcome on Yahoo! Screen this fall.

Negotiations went right up until the last minute as options for the cast were going to expire today. It’s not immediately clear when production will begin on season 6. Members of the cast, including Yvette Nicole Brown (pictured center with Danny Pudi and Gillian Jacobs),  hasn’t broke the good news to their followers on social media yet, so it’s not clear who will be coming back when “Commuity” returns in a few months. We’re hoping that Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) will be back to reprise his role as Troy!
