In February during Karen in the Afternoon its Black HER-Story Month where we are celebrating Black History month everyday with a “She Fact.”

Rosa Parks is today’s Black HER-Story She Fact.  She was the civil rights activist who was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, because she refused give up her seat on the bus after a long day at work. She was ordered by bus driver James F Black to give up her seat in the colored section to a white passenger on December 1, 1955. This sparked the Civil Rights Movement and blazed the trail for equality.

Today a group of young girls paid tribute to Parks with a Happy Birthday video dressed as the mother of the freedom movement. Rosa would have been 103 today.
