Dear Tom,

My name is Cedetria I’m 16 years-old and I’m writing you today to ask if you would please grant a Christmas wish for my wonderful mother, Loretta Washington. Her story begins as being the most caring person I’ve ever known.  She would give anybody a helping hand, clothes off her back or shelter if needed.   When i tell you she would give her last to a person… believe it, because she’s done it before.

Last march, mom needed gastric sleeve surgery done and should have been out of work for two weeks.   Instead, she went back to work within five days— pain and all—because she needed to work being a single parent. In June, she lost her job for no good reason at all when the company fired her.   She has been looking for work ever since, but nothing has come her way.

Sir, mom is a very proud lady and would rather be living on the streets then to ask for help, so that is why I am writing you.   She has been very worried about the bills…rent, electric, water, and car payment.   She doesn’t know where the money will come from to pay them this month.   Once more sir, please if you could grant my mom this Christmas wish to assist with either the rent or the water, electric and car payment, i would greatly appreciate it.   I know this is a lot to ask for, but if you could help her out with something —it’s better than nothing at all.   You’re a good man Mr. Joyner and you’re truly blessed.
