Beyonce and Jay Z have shelled out the big bucks for the “La Casa de Castille”, according to sources like Variety and the real estate blog CurbedA Spanish baroque designed (former) church, also stylized as a mansion, it’s located in the heart of the Garden District in New Orleans.

At 13, 292 square feet and listed at just $2.6 million (a real steal compared to New York City penthouses), it’s absolutely exquisite. Yet looks pretty cozy. It’s currently rumored to be the next home away from home for the Carter family.

We suppose it’s only natural that Beyonce would live in a home that was previously church!

A little more about the future home of Blue Ivy‘s enviable toy chest. It was built-in the middle of the Roaring Twenties, in 1925. It was first a place of worship for Westminster Presbyterian Church. In later years, it housed the ballet studio, Ballet Hysell.

By the 2000s, then owner Sandra Castille McNamara officially initiated the overhaul to convert the church into a home. By McNamara’s choice, new additions included an elevator shaft and the largest green roof in the Big Easy. (A roof that’s partially or fully covered in plants).

Also architectural-wise, there are “three 1,000-square-foot apartments.” The main living room rises at 26 feet high. And the windows in there are decadently arched!

We definitely give the couple points for their taste! It’s a beautiful home and is so Beyonce.

We already think this place is Beyhive approved.
