Nile Rodgers will receive special honors at the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards this summer. The Chic co-founder will be awarded with the BMI Icon Award for his influence on generations of musicians. Rodgers joins previous BMI Icon Award recipients such as James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Mariah Carey and George Clinton. At this year’s BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards Ludacris will receive BMI President’s Award. The awards ceremony will take place August 28th at Los Angeles’ Saban Theatre.
Congrats again to Nile Rodgers. Why this man isn’t in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame baffles me.
