October is national Domestic Violence Awareness month and Allstate and the Purple Purse campaign is bringing awareness to domestic and financial abuse.  Allstate’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility, Vicky Dinges talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the project that Kerry Washington has become the face of and its many benefits.

“Purple is the color of the domestic violence movement and a purse is a symbol of a woman’s financial domain. So we thought that because financial abuse is ore like an invisible weapon, we needed something to keep …We  talk about women leaving an abusive relationship with the clothes on their back, but now they’re leaving with crushing debt,” Dinges said.
