Tom:

I would love for you to select my husband for one of the real father’s real men.

On august 8th, we lost everything in the flood that hit Nashville, TN. –all furniture and both of our vehicles.

We’ll let me tell you why I want to nominate my husband. We were awakened at 5 am by our neighbors who alerted us that it was really flooding outside.  My husband jumped up to move our vehicles to higher ground with water already mid-thigh on his 6’3 build.  I was wondering what was taking him so long to come back…he was waking people up, and getting them to get to safety. Upon his return to our apartment, he yells “babe get the kids up, we have to get out of here. The water was then at waist level on him.

We have three kids, my husband carried our two girls, and I carried my son on my back. We proceeded to walk through this water which was then almost at chest level on him and it was almost neck level on me.

When the current changed and began to buckle my legs, I cried out to him in fear. I knew I couldn’t fall and risk losing my son.

Here’s where he became my hero. Somehow, he found the strength to hold me up and still hold onto our girls.  If it wasn’t for him, I don’t know if I would have made it.

So please, please choose my husband Travis Angus. He not only helped save his family, but once we got to safety, he went back into the water to help save others. He is a real father and real man!!!
