Hamilton County will get a new crime lab and space for other county offices.
The county commissioners agreed yesterday to accept the former Mercy/Mt. Airy hospital building for free, as the home of the crime lab.
There’s still no word, however, if the board of elections will move to the site. The NAACP is threatening to sue the county if the board moves to Mt. Airy, claiming it would deny access to the county’s early voting site.
