Did you know bourbon is America’s official spirit?
According to National Day Calendar, the liquor comes from the Kentucky county of the same name that was established in 1785.
Bourbon County was a large producer of corn at one point. The corn, once distilled, would be put in barrels and stamped “Old Bourbon” and shipped down the Ohio River.
