*He may not be able to have a go at it again, but President Barack Obama voiced an interesting outcome to the 2016 presidential election…if the Constitution allowed him to run for a third term.

“I actually think I’m a pretty good president. I think if I ran, I could win. But I can’t,” the commander-in-chief said Tuesday (July 28) during a speech in Ethiopia to the African Union headquarters.

Despite looking forward to life after the presidency and being able to make more visits to Africa, Obama admitted that there is more work he would like to do in office.

But, he said, “the law’s the law.”

In addition to assessing what would happen if he ran for office again, Politico reports Obama’s speech touched on the difference between the American system and the stint many African leaders are in power as they usually hold their power for decades. The only time that power is relinquished is if the leader dies of old age or if there is a coup.

The site notes that although Obama wasn’t talking American politics in his speech, it seemed as thought he was to advocate the need for new blood, whether it be Republican or Democratic.

“I’m still a pretty young man, but I know that someone with new insights and new energy will be good for my country,” Obama said.
