Viola Davis & More Attends Presidential NYC Premiere For 'G20'

Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis and her on-screen first family arrived in NYC on Tuesday evening for a presidential premiere of her upcoming action flick G20. The stars were shining bright in the heart of Times Square at the Regal RPX Theater where Davis, her co-stars Anthony Anderson, Marsai Martin, Ramón Rodriguez, and the film’s director, Julius Tennon, were on hand for the Prime Video / Amazon MGM Studios film’s premiere. In the film, Davis plays U.S. President Danielle Sutton, a former war hero who is now on a mission to end world hunger with an ambitious plan involving cryptocurrency to end world hunger. Sutton is joined by her first family, the First Gentleman (Anthony Anderson), her rebellious daughter Serena Sutton (Marsai Martin), and her son Demetrius Sutton (Christopher Farrar).

President Sutton will pitch her plan to other world leaders at the G20 Summit in South Africa. Things get out of hand when the summit becomes under siege by a group of elite soldiers led by a former military member named Ruttledge (Antony Starr). POTUS becomes the number one target after she evades capture. With help from her badass head Secret Service agent, Manny Ruiz (Ramón Rodriguez), she must stop the attackers from executing their plan and outsmart the enemy while saving her family and the entire free world.

Viola Davis Wants To Prove She Can Lead An Action Film With G20

The film marks the first time for Davis as the lead of her first action film. At the premiere, Davis told attendees, “I always wanted to do an action movie like Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver, and I just want people to believe that I can be the center of an action movie.” You can watch Davis get her action star on and go ham on the bad guys when G20 hits Prime Video on April 10.
