Eddie Levert is the co-frontman of The Mighty O’Jays. Formed in the 1960s, The O’Jays became famous for their soulful hits during the 1970s, including classics like “Love Train,” “Back Stabbers,” and “For the Love of Money.” Eddie Levert’s powerful and emotive voice has been a defining feature of the group’s sound.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues and organs. This can lead to inflammation and damage in various body parts, including the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood cells, and brain. The most common type is systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which affects multiple organ systems. Symptoms can vary widely but often include fatigue, joint pain, skin rashes, and fever. The exact cause of lupus is unknown.

Carlysia Levert, the daughter of the late great R&B singer Gerald Levert shared the news of Ryan’s passing via her social media.

Ryan Levert was the youngest child of Eddie Levert and his wife Raquel. Eddie’s children include late R&B singers Gerald, and Sean, and daughter Kandice. In 2006, Gerald died at the age of 40 from an accidental overdose of prescription and over-the-counter medications. His death was attributed to a combination of drugs that included narcotic pain relievers, anxiety medication, and antihistamines. Two years later, Sean Levert died from complications related to sarcoidosis, a disease that causes inflammation in various organs. His death was also associated with high blood pressure and withdrawal from Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication.
