When asked her opinion of the Beyonce’ brand of feminism, legendary singer/songwriter/political activist, Annie Lennox threw a little shade in Queen Bey’s direction. After praising Beyonce as an artist and performer, Annie referred to her as “feminist lite.” Lennox went on to critique pop stars for taking “taking the word [feminism] hostage and using it to promote themselves.” Annie’s comments were smooth and eloquent but shady nonetheless. What we witnessed is bonafide, high brow shade.
