Veteran rapper MC Lyte talked to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about her upcoming performance during the CIAA Tournament weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina. Although she’s well know as a rapper and, lately, a deejay, she’s also got a lucrative career doing voiceovers and is hosting a Centric music video show Morning Cup from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

And if that wasn’t enough, she co-authored a book with Dr. Benjamin Chavis called Fusion: Bridging the Gap Between Politics and Hip-Hop.

Out of all her roles, she says the voiceover gig is almost too easy.

“[BET] sets up all this time for me to do the voiceovers and I knock it out so quickly, they’re like OK,” Lyte says of her role as the network’s voiceover queen. She’s also done voiceovers for ESPN and more.

Lyte announced on the TJMS that she is single, available and looking. Pity the fool that couldn’t make it to Charlotte, N.C., to meet up with her because of flights being cancelled due to a Southern snowstorm.

“I’m available so if you guys want to hold a contest and find me a man…please, by all means. It’s hard out here for a pimp, you know what I mean?”

Hey, not a bad idea. Any Lyte fans out there who’d like to be more than fans, hit us in the comments and let us know!

If you’re in Charlotte tonight, check out Lyte with Big Daddy Kane in concert. Details HERE.
