The biggest game in the NFL just went down for the books! Singer Lady Gaga opened the 2016 Super Bowl 50 by performing the National Anthem with a spirit that seemed to invigorate Carolina Panther’s star quarterback Cameron Newton. The Panthers won the initial coin toss but chose to pass, allowing Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos to set the tone. The Broncos came out swinging and was able to score a field goal and a touchdown all in the first quarter.

During the second quarter Cam Newton was able to scramble for the Panthers first and only touchdown. The halftime performance by Coldplay, Bruno Mars, and Beyonce got the crowd amped for the second half.  The Denver Bronco’s defense brought their A game to the biggest game of the year, while the NFL’s MVP recipient seemed to play catch up the entire game.  The games true MVP appeared to be clear by the end of the 3rd quarter and that was Denver Defense player #58 Von Miller.

Peyton Manning, who announced could be at the end of the road in his career at age 39, and the Denver Broncos were more prepared to win than the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers had a great season but would fold under the pressure of Denver’s defense. The final game winning score: Denver Broncos 24 and Carolina Panthers 10.
