For those of you who vicariously live through Oprah Winfrey, you can now literally walk around in the clothing she once owned. That’s right, the billionaire media mogul is selling items from her closet through eBay for charity.
“My clothes were for being seen on TV or at an event,” she told The Coveteur in a behind-the-scenes shoot of her closet. “I’m still doing those things, but now my clothes are just for me.”
The last time Winfrey gave away clothing was in 2010, and this time around we’re getting a sneak peek at some of the items from her Harpo Studios offices in Chicago that will soon closed its doors. The purge idea came from Adam Glassman, O, the Oprah Magazine‘s creative director who assisted in creating the eBay post and facilitating the donation component that goes to Winfrey’s Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation.
“You know, Adam [Glassman was] the one who made me realize I was holding on to clothes that were all about a dream I had for myself,” Winfrey said. “I chose them for this idea I’d gotten into my head of how someone like me was supposed to live, but they had nothing to do with my actual life. And that changed me!”
A couple of the items we spotted on the shelves were Donna Karan dresses, Chanel quilted bags, Christian Louboutin heels, and Hermes bracelets. The best part: A lot of them look like they’ve never been worn.
For 25 years Harpo Studios in Chicago was the hotbed of action for the syndicated talk show that catapulted Winfrey to fame. From a controversial discussion with the Klu Klux Klan to Tom Cruise ruining her couch/professing his love for Katie Holmes, history was made here. So it’s kind of a huge deal that she’s selling the very items worn on the show.
“Most of these items are timeless and classic pieces,” Glassman told PEOPLE. “They have appeared on the covers of the magazine or episodes of her show, which make them so special.”
