Coming this fall, “Motown The Musical” is going back to the place where Motown was born, Detroit. It was announced Thursday that the show will play the Fisher Theater for a four week engagement. The hit Broadway musical features music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and a book by Berry Gordy.

Mr. Gordy says that he’s so happy that “Motown the Musical” is coming to Detroit’s Fisher Theater, which is less than a mile down the street from Hitsville, U.S.A.. He feels honor to bring the show home–to the people that really know him–to where it all began.

“Motown The Musical” will be in Detroit October 21-November 16,2014. The National Tour kicks off in Chicago April 22nd 2014.
