If you think we’re getting the wost of it up here in the north take a look down south. They’ve been hit hard in the past couple weeks with the extreme cold and snow flurries.
A winter storm has knocked out power to more than 500,000 homes and businesses in several Southeastern states.
Duke Energy said 60 line technicians and additional support personnel assembled at Turfway Park Thursday morning before heading south to help more than 3,000 other Duke crews in the Carolinas and elsewhere.
Thursday’s departures are part of an additional 500 Ohio and Kentucky crews going south. Indiana-based crews were departing from Indianapolis Thursday morning.
