Simon Guobadia Deported After ICE Detention Amid Divorce Drama

Simon Guobadia, the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has officially been deported after spending months in ICE custody. Us Weekly confirmed that Guobadia, 61, was removed from the U.S. and returned to his home country just days ago, following his detention at Stewart Detention Center in Georgia since February.

Guobadia’s friend and business partner, Tai Savet, shared that despite the ordeal, his first time behind bars, Simon remained in “good spirits.” Savet added that Guobadia harbors no resentment toward former President Donald Trump and has expressed interest in meeting with him.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has since removed Guobadia’s name from its online detainee system. A recent selfie of Guobadia, taken on June 9, shows him with salt-and-pepper hair and a beard. He’s also launching a new business selling t-shirts to benefit people still held in ICE custody.

Guobadia, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1982, reportedly overstayed his visa twice and was deported in 1992. That same year, he re-entered the U.S. under an undisclosed identity and obtained permanent residency. Despite multiple attempts, he was never granted citizenship.

His deportation adds further complication to his ongoing divorce from Williams, who filed to end their marriage in February 2024 after 15 months. The couple has been locked in a legal dispute over the prenuptial agreement and exclusive use of their marital home, which the judge temporarily awarded to Williams.

Guobadia is expected to appear via video at their upcoming divorce hearing on June 11, while Williams has requested to attend virtually due to her career obligations. Her attorney emphasized the financial burden Guobadia has allegedly left her with and assured the court her request was made in good faith.

The judge has not yet ruled on her motion.
