Germaine Pratt Signs with Raiders After Bengals Release: A New Chapter in Vegas

Linebacker Germaine Pratt is heading west. The former Cincinnati Bengals standout has signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders worth $4.25 million, with additional incentives tied to playtime, marking a fresh start after six productive seasons in the NFL.
Pratt, a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, quickly became a cornerstone of the Bengals’ defense. Known for his consistency and physical play, he racked up an impressive 616 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, and seven interceptions during his time in Cincinnati. He led the team in tackles last season and was a top contributor in the years prior.
Despite his strong individual performance, the Bengals’ defense struggled overall, prompting a wave of changes in the offseason — including shifts in both the coaching staff and the roster. Entering the final year of a three-year, $20+ million contract, Pratt was released as part of the team’s reset.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor expressed gratitude for Pratt’s tenure with the team. “Germaine gave us everything he had for six years,” Taylor said. “He played with heart, intensity, and leadership.”
The Raiders, looking to strengthen their defensive unit, moved swiftly to secure Pratt. His experience, leadership, and playmaking ability make him a valuable addition to a defense seeking to improve in 2025.
As Pratt prepares for his next chapter in Las Vegas, fans and analysts alike will be watching to see how his veteran presence helps anchor the Raiders’ evolving defense.
