Bengals Make Key Roster Moves, Add QB Desmond Ridder
The Cincinnati Bengals were busy on July 20, making six roster moves as training camp approaches. Among the most notable additions was quarterback Desmond Ridder, a former University of Cincinnati standout, who returns to the Queen City as a potential backup for Joe Burrow.
Burrow’s injury history has prompted the Bengals to seek reliable depth under center, and Ridder brings both NFL experience and local familiarity. His addition not only shores up the quarterback room but also gives the team a strong Plan B should Burrow miss time.
In addition to Ridder, the Bengals added three other players: a center and two defensive tackles. These signings help strengthen both the offensive and defensive lines—areas the team is looking to reinforce ahead of a highly competitive 2025 season.
To make room on the roster, Cincinnati waived offensive lineman Tashawn Manning and released quarterback Logan Woodside.
With these moves, the Bengals continue to fine-tune their depth and prepare for another playoff push. Keep an eye on how these additions factor into training camp battles and preseason matchups.
