The Right To Read program was birthed by Cincinnati Police Chief Blackwell under the direction of Officer Donald Jordan. Several law enforcement officials from the Cincinnati Police Department mentor while also assisting children with reading comprehension along side University of Cincinnati students. The program seeks volunteers in grades 10-12 as well as college students interested in helping to make reading cool! Reading is fundamental. Mentoring works!

Research shows that reading aloud is the single most important thing you can do to help a child prepare for reading and learning.
