A law enforcement official in South Carolina is on leave after a video went viral this week showing him tossing a female high school student from her desk and dragging her across a classroom at Springfield Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina.

The confrontation, captured on students’ cell phone videos, was discussed Tuesday on ABC’s The View, and once again, it seems co-host Raven-Symoné put her foot in her mouth.

“The girl was told multiple times to get off of her phone. There’s no right reason for him to be doing this type of harm… that’s ridiculous. But at the same time, you’ve got follow the rules in school,” Symoné said at the 2:50 mark of Tuesday’s After The View segment posted on YouTube. “First of all, why are there cell phones in school? This shouldn’t even be a problem to begin with, and he shouldn’t have been acting like that on top of it.”
