Robin Roberts came out the closet this week and now she’s getting lots of love from her famous friends, including the First Lady!
Michelle Obama took to her Twitter account to let the world know she is “so happy” for the “Good Morning America” host and girlfriend of 10 years Amber Laign.
“I am so happy for you and Amber!” the FLOTUS tweeted.
“You continue to make us all proud,” she added, signing “mo” to indicate she authored the message.
Robin revealed her relationship in a Facebook post on Sunday, where she thanked family, friends and “long time girlfriend, Amber” for their love and support after her bone marrow transplant procedure.
“At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude,” she wrote. “I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health. I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life. I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.”
Comediennes and fellow out celebs Ellen DeGeneres and Wanda Sykes also showed their support on Twitter.
“Good morning, America! Congratulations, @RobinRoberts,” DeGeneres posted.
Sykes wrote, “Good morning @RobinRoberts ‘Go on with your bad self” Xoxo.”
