John Legend Steps Away from ‘The Voice’ for Season 28 to Celebrate ‘Get Lifted’ 20th Anniversary Tour

Fans of The Voice will be missing a familiar face in Season 28, as Grammy-winning artist John Legend steps away from his coaching duties to embark on a major milestone: the 20th Anniversary Tour for his debut album Get Lifted.

Legend took to Instagram to share the exciting news, writing, “I’m so excited to announce that I’m heading back on the road for the Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour!” The tour will celebrate the groundbreaking album that launched his career, featuring fan favorites and soulful classics that first introduced the world to his signature sound.

Though his absence will be felt, Season 28 of The Voice promises an exciting lineup of coaches, including Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg—each bringing their own flair to the competition.

Since joining the show in Season 16 (2019), John Legend has become a beloved mentor, known for his thoughtful critiques, smooth charisma, and powerhouse team performances. His presence has shaped many contestants’ journeys and left a lasting impact on the series.

While he won’t be spinning his chair this season, fans can still catch Legend doing what he does best—live on stage—as he brings Get Lifted back to life for audiences around the world.
