Trey Hendrickson Holding Out of Bengals Training Camp Amid Contract Talks

The Cincinnati Bengals are entering training camp with uncertainty surrounding one of their top defensive stars. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson is not reporting to camp with the team’s veterans, a decision tied to ongoing contract negotiations.

Despite multiple offers from the Bengals front office, no agreement has been reached. Hendrickson, who led the NFL in sacks last season, is reportedly seeking both a raise and a contract extension to reflect his elite production and value to the team. His absence was unexpected, as the Bengals had anticipated his presence when camp opened.

Team owner Mike Brown remains optimistic, telling reporters that he believes a deal will be reached soon. “We want Trey here, and we’re working on it,” Brown said.

Hendrickson’s holdout adds another layer of contract drama for the Bengals, who are also in negotiations with first-round draft pick Shemar Stewart, whose deal remains unsigned. As the team gears up for a crucial season, the hope is that both situations are resolved quickly to avoid any lingering distractions.

For now, all eyes remain on Hendrickson — and whether the Bengals can lock in one of their defensive cornerstones before the season kicks into gear.
