A local village has decided to disband its police department.

The village of Lincoln Heights has decided to lay off all of its officers, because they do not have enough money to pay for the insurance to cover them. Village officials claim that their insufficient funds are due to the “frivolous lawsuits filed against the city”.

Earlier this month, the village had shut down both its Fire and Police Department. Despite its police department being closed, its fire department is still open.
