Issa Rae’s “Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl” Not Coming To HBO
Hold your horses. Despite what you may have heard, Issa Rae’s webseries ”Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl” is not coming to HBO. Issa took to Twitter to set the record straight.
Keep seeing articles that "Awkward Black Girl" is going to HBO. It's not. False. Faux. No veritas.—

Several websites misreported that Issa’s popular series would be developed by HBO where she and Larry Wilmore would co-write a series about “the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern-day African-American woman,” which is untrue. However, Issa will be working with HBO on a new pilot. “I’m writing a HBO pilot. We just turned that in, so we’re waiting on notes. And I’m always working on a web series,” she told the Huffington Post in November.
