Ray Abou-Arab is being held on $5M bond for the deaths of two firemen

My mother and father always said, “son; don’t play with fire, and definitely don’t set an apartment building a-blaze, trapping and killing two fighters all in the name of an insurance policy money scam.”

Looks like Ray Abou-Arab’s mother didn’t lend him the same knowledge because that’s exactly what he did. Now this Toledo fool is being held on a $5M bond and facing some serious time.

Authorities said in court documents that Abou-Arab used a flammable liquid to  start the fire that killed firefighters Stephen Machcinski and James Dickman on  Jan. 26. He was in a garage at the site of the fire just before an apartment  resident said she saw the blaze break out, the documents said.

Radio calls from the scene of the fire indicated that the pair faced rapidly  deteriorating conditions once inside the six-unit apartment building near  downtown. Firefighters found them inside, carried them out and tried  unsuccessfully to save them.
