One of our faithful listeners was recognized Tuesday on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
Michael Barnes from Cincinnati was recognized as a “Real Father Real Man” for being a good protector and a provider to his family. He was nominated by his wife, Rainey Barnes. When writing a nomination letter to Tom Joyner, Rainey wrote:
“HE MARRIED ME TWO YEARS LATER IN 1994, GIVING UP HIS LIFE AS A SINGLE YOUNG MAN AND HELPED ME DEVELOP A BEAUTIFUL SET OF YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN. HIS MOTTO IS, “I’M NOT RAISING THUGS OR STREET WALKERS;” MEANING BOYS PULL UP YOUR PANTS, AND GIRLS PULL DOWN THOSE SKIRTS.”
Tom awarded Michael with gift certificates two of his favorite stores: Wal-Mart and Guitar Center for a total of $1,000. If you want to nominate someone for the “Real Father Real Man” award, just go to Blackamericaweb.com
